About HoosierThunder Chapter 02
HoosierThunder is a small, family oriented, not for profit chapter of the National Cruiser Club USA. This chapter was formed in July of 2005 by a group of friends to share the enjoyment of motorcycling. We try to ride every weekend the weather and schedules permit. All brands of motorcycles are welcome! We enjoy helping out with charity events when times allows.
We have very few rules in the chapter:
1. No alcohol on rides.
2. Respect each other.
3. Ride to the best of your ability.
4. Do not do anything to disrespect our chapter.
We have been involved with a couple of charity projects we feel is very
important. In September of 2005, we sponsored a Veteran's Memorial Fundraiser
Ride for the Scott County Veteran's Memorial fund. Their goal is to raise
$100,000 to build and maintain a new Memorial to honor the men and women who
gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We raised $3,065.00 for this great
cause.
In 2006, we sponsored an Auction with proceeds benefiting the Washington County
Shop with a Cop. Before the Auction we set out collection cans in various
Washington County area business to aid in receiving money for this wonderful
community service. We received newly donated toys from many of the attendees of
the auction, and overall raised $3,300 for the Children of Washington County.
In 2007, we sponsored a Jelly Bean Ride with all proceeds benefiting the
Washington County Shop with a Cop Program. We sold raffle and 50/50 tickets
throughout the ride, and overall collected $1,411.00 for this program.
Each Christmas we are also involved with a toy auction collecting toys for needy kids who would otherwise not receive anything for Christmas. It feels really good to be able to give something back to the community.
Anyone is welcome to ride with us and see what we are all about. Ride safe and keep your knees in the breeze!
